SUNY Upstate Health Sciences Library - Access locally grown Upstate NY health information; view videos on various health topics; a selection on five per month; even print out patient education pages produced by Upstate professionals.


NOAH - New York Online Access to Health is a great starting point for health information. Created by a partnership between librarians and health professionals, NOAH gives you access to health topics including specific disorders, procedures, and support groups. Information is provided in both English and Spanish.


Health Topics A to Z - The NY Department of Health provides basic information on over 500 topics.


HealthyNJ - Yes, it's from the "Jersey" side, but the University of Dentistry and Medicine of NJ has created a comprehensive site for you health needs. The Reference Desk offers helpful tools like dictionaries, journals and textbooks. The sickness and health pages contain links to authoritative Web sites with an easy A-Z look-up. Information also available in Spanish.


HealthFinder - Your tax dollars at work. This US Department of Health and Human Services web site has news, consumer guides, a database of organizations, and a health library. Information in Spanish too.


FamilyDoctor - Created by the Academy of Family Physicians, this site offers A-Z condition information, tips for healthy living, a guide to selecting a family doctor, special pages for special folks like teens and the elderly, a guide to over-the-counter medicines, and some handy health tools.


KidsHealth - Produced by the Nemours Foundation for kids, teens, and parents. Kids can ask questions, try experiments, and find out the answer to age-old questions like What's a booger? Teens have access to things like sexual health and staying safe. For parents, there's the full gamut from medical to emotional problems.


Mayo Clinic - The Mayo Clinic site let's you check out common symptoms, gives help in managing a condition, offers resources for healthy living, and even has an Ask a specialist feature.


Medem - An offshoot of the American Medical Association, Medem serves as a communication tool for physicians and patients. You can create an iHealthRecord to store and print out, view educational programs on your condition, search through their online medical library, and, if your physician is a participant, use the secure email system to consult with him/her about your health.
